yesterday was absolutely ridiculous. my friends and i got up at 8 so that we could get to campus early. every student is required to get a permit to stay and everyone also needed to get their computers checked before logging on to the temple wireless system. we got to the permit to stay room at i think 9. there weren't many people there, which is good considering there are at least 200 students! they handed out pieces of paper with numbers to mark each persons' place in line. i got number 8, so i thought i could leave early. the people there to help us with our permit to stay were not able to start the process until about 11 because their computer program crashed. so we are all sitting in the room that they asked only the first 10 people to stay, and i decided to go check if there was a way we could do the computer thing ourselves while we were waiting. it turned out they were passing out numbers there too. because nobody knew about it, i got number 107. once they started the permit to stay, i was done quickly...all we had to do was turn in a copy of every page of our passport (even if it is blank) and 60 euro and we were done. we have to go back for another meeting later in the month to do something with the italian police...i have no idea what will happen. okay so after alll that, i got my italian cell phone and we headed upstairs to do the computer thing. they were only on number 20!! we went to eat, came back, waited....to make a long story short, we got back to the residence at like 6 pm! it took foreverr

my roommates, julie and i went to the supermarket to get food for dinner. becky and steph made an amazing meal (pasta with an artichoke and sausage sauce). it was soo good. i also found out i really like brie cheese and crackers!

nothing was scheduled through the university today, so everyone slept in this morning. i want to go see the pantheon today and the vatican at night. we will see what happens. tomorrow is a all day trip to umbria to eat a tradition italian 14 course meal! so that should be verry fun! i am going to upload pictures now from the colosseum adventure.
